I have signed an offer at Amazon. I have a second offer from a different company. Second offer is slightly better (by 10-20K) in terms of money but Amazon is better (not a startup and less unstable) in terms of other areas. And besides the RSU might grow. Is it a good idea to negotiate Amazon salary with the HR? Especially considering the fact that I have alrighty signed the offer. Amazon HR, when the initial offer was made, said that they couldn't do anything more in terms of TC. But at that point, my negotiation was based on cost of living calculation. Will Amazon stance change from "we can't do anything more in terms of TC" to "we might be able to do something" once I tell them about the second offer? Is it a good idea to do this if my heart has sort of already decided in Amazon? Truly appreciate any help! #salaries #negotiateoffer
Negotiations are only in bad faith if you've already signed the offer
Mostly a no!
Don’t do it for 10-20k. Do it if difference is more than 100k
Yoe and level? Are you ready to walk out of amazon offer? Then yes.
Seeing as you signed the offer, they probably won't budge. They'll negotiate before, but only if you have leverage with other offers. You could exercise the nuclear option of resigning and saying you're open to renegotiating, but I wouldn't do that for this difference. Plenty of room for growth at Amazon that'll more than make up the difference.
"growth" is something I noticed when I was thinking about this
Depends on your position, how critical/senior are you to the requirement?
I'm not critical. I don't think anyone is critical for these big companies unless you have several parents and you are a serious game changer
Big NO coming your way man! Sorry!
