I am expecting an offer from Amazon and wanted to know this Does amazon have any public transport allowance in Boston like other companies in the area like Google, Wayfair, Facebook, etc?
Yeah- Google CAM public benefit are great; they have a different, far more generous plan than most other Google offices. But Amazon? I'd be surprised, unless there are incentives from the govt in Boston.
@vvggqq. What are the CAM benefits at Google? I’m interviewing for a non tech role for CAM and am intrigued.
Google will pay 100% !!! of your public transportation costs!! Of course, for any value over $270 (irs 2020 limit), it will be a taxed benefit. ie, if I lived in Providence & took Acela every day- I could have Google pay for it; but I'm taxed on the amount every month over $270. They will also give you up to $100/month for park-n-ride parking costs. Beyond that- it's subject to irs pre/post tax limits. Or, chose for Google to pay up the the IRS limit for onsite parking. So- pretty sweet. I'm in the NYC now, and we don't get it so generous. Just ability to set aside pre-tax dollars.
For SF they give 240$ a month along with free cal train pass, i would assume something similar would be there for Boston as well?
Amazon (AWS, at least) employees are eligible for public transportation reimbursement up to $160/month (covering MBTA CharlieCard).
I know they reimburse for parking allowance. I wasn't sure about public transport. How do you know about this?
Recently received an offer from AWS, and this was sent by the recruiter (the benefits doc was specific to the Boston office).
Wayfair does not provide any traveling allowance for public transportation
I thought they refilled your charlie card?
You pay for it out of pocket although it is from pre tax money.
I second the above. Wayfair doesn’t pay for anything. Which Amazon office are you expecting an offer from? I’m in same boat with AWS
Any idea for amazon Arlington,Va location?

For bay area, they pay for your monthly bus/train pass. So you don't pay for commuting. They should be doing the same in Boston.
