I was a Retail tech L5, quit Amazon 9 months back for personal reasons, and would like to get interviewed again for rehire. I’m unable to get phone screens scheduled from the recruiters, though hiring manager was okay. i was never on any performance plan during amazon tenure. Just curious if there is a rehire policy, or if something could be fishy in my exit? How do I become eligible.. any tips
Whether hiring manager likes you or not they do not have visibility on your previous status. You are either eligible, not eligible or will need review. If TA is dodging you chances are you are not eligible or you need to be reviewed.
They do have that visibility once you get tagged to their open position, but not before that. HM can see the history of anyone who has formally applied to their role.
What happened later? Were you able to get the call or join Amazon?
Use your internal contacts to work directly with the hiring managers instead of recruiters. You should not need a phone screen, given Amazon history should be able to go straight to a loop. Hiring manager should be able to drive that. If you were on a dev plan you will have a no rehire flag and a manager may be more willing to level with you about that than a recruiter. Treat it like internal transfer, meet up for coffee.
Is it possible that a person is put on a dev list without them knowning about it before the person quits Amazon?
