Got L6 offer@Seattle Moving from Bay Area to Seattle Graebel contacted me for relocation and offered 2 options for fully covered vs lump sum Lump sum I am offered is $10,500 From other threads on blind , ppl were saying lumpsum is $15k? Is this standard in amazon or is there negotiation involved in this as well? Also, say if I quit before 1 year, do I need to repay relocation?
Standard, no negotiable 15k is for international. For domestic it is 10k which comes down to 6800 after taxes Don't take lumpaum unless you have already started paying rent in Seattle Go for fully covered, as it covers couple of months of initial accommodation in addition to large number of other benefits. I know several people who took fully covered, none regret. I know several took lum sum, all of them regret. Again only exception is if you have already place and everything else settled down in Seattle
Does Amazon still offer that luxurious full cover relocation package? My friend at Amazon transferred to NYC and got put in a luxury 5k+/month apartment for 30 days, personal consultant for finding a place, and of course moving and flight fees covered. Lump sum is probably still financially better for most people but that's pretty sweet.
Hi. Did your friends get a increase in their base salary as well. Wondering what the base adjustment is from Seattle to New York?
How much is it in India for domestic relocation? Amazon is offering me 1.5lac for L5.
took the fully covered service. It was awesome. Free trip for house hunting, local guider. Covered first 45 days rent, some money for home improvement for my old house. Auto and household moving were just awesome, so professional. I saw their note on some paperwork states something like “this is a VIP customer, need to make sure their satisfaction” u cannot imagine how serious they wrap my household goods, like they customized a wooden crate for my 20 bucks IKEA mirror.....also, my spouse got a free career coach which helped her find a job in amazon later as well...
Same. I had an older offer I declined, relo was 15k. Now I got 10500.
Got an offer yesterday. Moving internationally. Lump sum is $7000. A friend within the same org had an offer 2~3 months ago and got $10000. Too bad!
Take relo, if you pass up corporate housing and jump straight into renting they pay up to 75 days no matter rental cost. That alone is worth at least 7 grand.
I chose lumpsum but reading this post, I am thinking I should've chosen fully covered. Is it something I can still change? I accepted the offer and already received 5k but H1 transfer is in RFE.
Hey! In the hindsight, what do you think was a better option? Taking the lump sum or fully covered? I’ve to decide in a weeks time
BTW note if you do lump sum, you can still get separate reimbursement for your travel to your destination, for example I drive and got the miles and a few nights of hotel and meals covered
How did you apply for reimbursement? I checked with my agent and she said if you take lumpsum you don't get any additional benefits.
Hmm I don't know then. They just told me since I was driving they'd cover the miles and a few nights of hotel and meals. Even when I logged in, it showed space to reimburse for flight, had I chosen to fly

What is the appeal to NVIDIA?
Unfortunately they have reduced the lump sum amount.
^^^ This is correct. Changed in the last couple of months. To answer your second question, if you leave before two years you will owe back a pro-rated amount of your relocation amount.
Is there a calculation for pro ration? I am trying to weigh in the options in case I don’t like Seattle
