In Microsoft you get Base + 20-30 % Cash + RSUs or may be special stocks once in a while. Does Amazon has cash bonus or it's all RSUs ? And how about merit increase that may not be possible as there's a cap in base salary. Please share
Lol, but for everyone who doesn't know, your first and second year are base+sign on, with RSU vesting schedule as {5%,15%,40%,40%} over the first 4 years to make up for when the bonus runs out. You get perf bonuses it you're good and not at the top of the TC band.

This is poetry. Yup, we have pretty hard TC bands that regularly lose to FB, G, N... most of the FAANG tier companies and many smaller ones. All this being said, we earn a lot more than many SDEs and scientists in corporate tech, with often more interesting problems and (in my experience at least) less top down bullshit.
