Hi blind family,

I'm currently an L4 at Amazon, i got an offer from Workday for P3 with a significant pay bump! Also the tech stack is Java+React which i want vs plain Java that i currently work on. I am just worried about moving from FAANG to non FAANG. WLB in the current team is good! Intending to move mainly for location

Current:
Tc: ~160k
Location: Seattle

New:
Tc: ~260k

@upfj8283 When you say "lady manager", I'm hearing that you believe the fact that she is a woman bears some significance on the fact that she was surprising and difficult to work with.

Would you say "man manager" if the manager was male?

By saying things like this, you're making life harder for all female managers. Now they all have to face more bias because you're spreading information that being a woman has something to do with why your manager was bad.

Go to workday. Culture is cool and they have guaranteed refreshers.

So even without promo your compensation will increase every year!

Make sure you donโ€™t end up in a dead end career at workday. They use too much proprietary tech and languages from what I heard.

Early on Iโ€™d stick it out at amazon. You can learn a lot more.

Oh and anyone suggesting to rest and vest as an L4 just isnโ€™t all that bright. You want to spend your first few years learning as much as you can

Note: I spent 3 years at amazon and planning to come back

Pays well, stable, and can literally work on anything Iโ€™m interested in. I was on a team and org that I was generally happy with but if I wasnโ€™t I could switch teams. Worked with a guy for a while who switched teams every 3-6 months. Seen other people switch every year which was encouraged to some extent by a few SDMs Iโ€™ve interacted with

Go for Workday. 99% of employees get big refreshes each year. It will stack up nicely so your TC will be much higher. At end of 4 year cliff you can decide to stick around or switch
