Where do you think this new HQ will locate?
North Austin or Vancouver, BC
Would love for it to be Austin, but some of the requirements has me thinking it'll be eliminated. Mass transit being the main reason, although the city would likely develop a better mass transit infrastructure if selected. The requirements also state that it should be 45 minutes from an international airport which Austin lacks, although Houston is a 30 minute flight away. There are lots of other compelling reasons though such as no state taxes, affordable properties, lower cost of living, and plenty of tech talent.
I live in Austin at the domain. I agree, it would be awesome for it to be here, but I have my doubts too. Not a lot of room downtown for 50k employees, but money can buy a lot of east Austin I suppose. If they go to the domain where Amazon offices Aus11 & Aus13 are they will be in an area already filled with Amazon, AWS and Twitch employees. Not a lot of room here either, but folks are quickly plowing through burnet road to make room for more offices/parking garages. From the domain to the airport is less than 30 with traffic and it is an international airports with multiple nonstop flights globally.
Toronto is my guess. Easier for tech talent visas.

They already have a lot of buildings and they are very cheap on paying for good ones, so not likely.
Somewhere that will suddenly experience higher property values as Amazon inflated salaries drive up greed and make it harder for everyone else. </rant>
