Which company is expected to pay more for senior developer? Which one would you join and why?
Can you share why?
100% agree. Combo of TC, W/L balance, and how it looks on the resume.
Even if Airbnb pays you well, it’s not a great place for senior engineers, most of their employees are insanely junior and I’ve heard complaints of this negatively affecting their code base
How is it at Twitter (morale/pay/culture)? I’m genuinely curious.
Morale is really good right now in my opinion because the company is on the upswing, there’s still issues but they’re actively being worked on Pay is great and was higher than my offers from google, FB and Microsoft (but FB probably has better benefits) Overall I think we have a very open culture and ideas are talked about freely and people tend to be very open to listening/talking and providing opportunities for learning and growth
Which teams??
Airbnb > Twitter > amzn
In terms of technical challenge too? Or just pay?
Who knows technical challenge. That solely depends on team.
Airbnb comp is top tier and based on same bands as SF. Staff is awesome and the product teams are interesting. Mix of product and platform/infra teams. Really your choice through boot camp. Leadership is strong and feels like a start up but with large company resources.
Twitter if you get into the right teams. There are some challenging projects that are going on now and we are in a good place financially. That being said you could also get picked into a team and role with GDPR black hole and other shitty grunt work.
Thanks! What’s an example of a good team?

I haven’t done shit today!
Airbnb pays higher by a large margin. But the stock is not liquid for a couple more years.
Potentially a “good” stock?
Yes the last estimate I read expected a 1.5-2x increase at IPO
