I created a poll recently asking which is the better place to work and surprisingly, the overwhelming majority said Apple (more than 85% out of around 100 votes) and even in comments, people at Amazon said Apple’s compensation and WLB is better. Is this true? I for one thought Amazon paid top dollar albeit with a bad wlb. How does Apple compare? My Apple offer: 128/105/28 105 rsu over 4 and qualify for refreshers every year 24 is total sign+reloc bonus before tax Loc is Bay Area 1 YoE Still waiting for Amazon offer but based on feedback should get it soon
I think it’s really really really dependent on the team. The Apple team I met with for my own onsite was super chill and they seem to have amazing WLB. I have a friend on the team (though as PM) and she could confirm. She was actually worried my growth would slow because it’s not a competitive/fast paced team. It’s not on core/super consumer facing though. I heard otherwise from other teams with terrible WLB at Apple. Also Apple compensation blew everything else I had out of the water except for a unicorn startup (who could match). Google and FB couldn’t compete though both did downlevel me in comparison to Apple. Apple’s top of the range is higher it seems.
Do you even have an offer from either company?
I do
