Amazon vs Flipkart vs Sharechat
I have received an offer from flipkart two days back for sde1 role. Also have a verbal offer from sharechat and they are willing to match flipkart offer. With the recent announcement of amazon market correction I am not exactly sure whether it will be a right move to leave amazon at this point. In talks for negotiation with flipkart. Currently receiving good feedback at amazon and receiving org level recognition. Manager is willing to start promotion talks around year end. On the other hand seems like flipkart will file from an ipo soon. Yoe: < 1 Current tc : 14.5 base + 3.6(year1 bonus) + 2.25(year2 bonus) + 1.5 (relocation)+ 11.8(stock vested over 4yrs) Flipkart offer: 19.5 (base) + 1.95(performance) + 6.15 (stock) + 3 (joining bonus with 2 yrs clawback) #engineering #software #swe

Flipkart IPO is not sure and promo takes typically 1.5 - 2 years . Even that time it won't be as same as Amazon SDE-2 Sde TC correction is happening and you will see that in Apr-May type. And remember you have to learn everything in the new company and you are more likely going to do the same in Amazon. So I would say , stay at Amazon and get th e offer. If you don't receive at the end of the year, then try SDE-2 level in other companies.
First of all your TC in flipkart is less. Don't go to flipkart for such a small hike. your YOE <1 so i will suggest wait for this year and then you might get promoted or you can aim for sde2.

Get promoted to SDE2 at Amazon, then think of changing. Changing now will set you back a year.
Spend some time in Amazon, try to get a promo, or atleast don't join as SDE1. Both FK and SC has lowballed you. SDE2 at Amazon is compensated a lot better (wlb is shit mostly)
No point leaving Amazon if promotion path is clear. Surprised why people are voting Flipkart. Don't go for peanut increases in TC. SDE 2 at Amazon is paid considerably higher than SDE 2 at Flipkart

Yeah you shouldn't trust your manager but if you believe you are performing well, I don't see any issues. Would have be another story if you were performing poorly and so wanted to jump ship because of pip fear or something. If you join Flipkart now, you will have to start from scratch for SDE 2 promo. And all that effort for what? A TC lower than what you would get at Amazon as SDE 2?
