I'm a new grad and I've already accepted an offer at Amazon with a team under AWS Support. The WLB seems very good and the work doesn't seem too stressful. I also just got an interview with Snap and I'm wondering if it's worth pursuing given this. I feel like my future would be far less stable with Snap (layoffs, faith in stock, etc.) But in terms of learning potential, growth, and TC, is Snap worth pursuing?
In terms of learning, probably Amazon is better at the beginning. In Snap you need to know what you're doing in order to enjoy it.
Join snap after a year at Amazon
If you are a fast learner and enjoy faster pace come and join Snap. You'll learn way more stuff here because of more responsibility and more impact. However joining at a junior level you might not see significant TC difference from Amazon.
Amazon is always a safebet. WLB will probably be your main issue if any. And then after a year or so you can go to Snap! After a year you will be able to make an informed decision. 😊
This is good advice, thank you! Maybe it would be best to take the safer bet for now until I have some experience.
