Both are for a summer 2022 internship Coinbase: 50/hr No team matching, not sure what return offer rate is Amazon: 53/hr + 7k housing Not team matching, virtually guaranteed return offer since I am good at playing with my đ Also have an offer with hyperscience (NYC): 50/hr Also, can you work with solidity in Coinbase? Also, what are each companies policies on working on a startup during the internship?
Nobody wants to hire someone that had a weak enough judgement to work on Bezos. Go to Coinbase
Solidity - depends on the team. I would express interest to the recruiter. Return rate - high for high performers, low for low performers. If you want to cruise for your internship so you can work at the startup why not just do the startup full time? People are probably gonna notice low output.
Nah, just as an option if the startup goes big between now and summer. I work 16 hour days anyway so should be plenty of time to do both
WTF is solidity?
Programming language for the Ethereum blockchain
Why does solidity matter at Coinbase, unless you are building dapps on ethereum? Isn't the Coinbase app, similar to Robinhood for crypto tickers? And wouldn't that *brokerage* (retail or institutional) tech be majority of the work there? And that's not related to ethereum blockchain itself.
Avoid CB youâll have no life. Hard for young people not to succumb to the pressure
Where does the pressure come from?
We have more and more code yellow and code red projects getting announced. We only increase priority on tasks; we never decrease. New interviewers donât even shadow folks anymore before first interview since we are so desperate to hire faster. Our HR director lambasted the company at an all hands that you are expected to work more than 40hrs per week minimum (annoying thing is most everyone was already).
Did someone seriously suggest picking Amazon for WLB? Lol. CB might not be great but they don't have the URA issues afaik.
Amazon def has better wlb based on reports from former Amazon folks at CB
You will probably not work with solidity at Coinbase, especially as an intern
Nobody wants to hire someone that has a weak enough judgment to work on cryptocurrencies. Go to Amazon.
Amazon sucks
Crypto > AMZN I for one would rather hire a Coinbase intern.
