This makes me sick. Amazon is easily one of the most unethical businesses to work for in Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies, besides Palantir.
Is that because it happens in the US? I'm just asking - if, for example, a company was making mad profits on exploitation of workers that had safety nets installed on their mandated work housing farm to keep them from offing themselves, would it be more ethical if it were not local? And why?
If you operate in the US, you are subject to US observations and work culture judgement. End of story.
They also make them wait 20-30 mins to go through security scanners without pay. Modern day slavery.

Modern day slavery that is by no means forced, is compensated, and seems to be enjoyed by a lot of the workers. Perhaps slavery was not the right word to use.
Where in the world are they supposed to be peeing in said bottles? I worked in the FC for more than a year and honestly don’t really believe this unless they were some rebels or something along those lines.
The FC reputation is bad enough that if one day someone comes out saying 'my manager held my neck and yelled at me for dropping a book' people would believe it. No amount of PR will make this go away. They must improve pay and working hours. So much for a trillion dollar corporation.
If people took the time to see what actual workers say (via their own words), instead of proxied by a journalist, we’d be in a much better place. But, amazon is a big target, and this kind of journalism fuels clicks. I don’t blame them.
