I have an onsite interview coming at facebook. Any tips for preparation. The role is to lead small team of product analysts.
What’s your profile? I’d suggest brushing up on the product really well - metrics, case studies, some behavioral, how would you analyze X? My suggestion is keep the analysis simple, and your thought process structured as to why you’re doing what
What's your background?
I have interviewed for Analytics role at Facebook. Didn’t make it unfortunately. If u get hired, do return the favor by referring me or even better interviewing me for open positions in your team :P... So, they asked me —> what are you lookin for in the new role? STAR pattern questions were common like ... can you share your experience at Microsoft on how you impacted business by improving product... they give a lot of focus on using analytics for improving products... for example, how did you use NPS i.e Net Promoter Score analysis to improve product... they asked me how did I go about creating Divisional level dashboards - what were the challenges, how did you scale, how was the dashboard used by stakeholders... are you interviewing for SMB Marketing Analytics Manager role? In that role, you will have to manage a small team of marketing science experts... you are supposed to know A/B tests and how you used A/B test to improve client ads ROI... you need to know CPM and CPC models, CTR etc and other such concepts and also examples you’ve implemented in your previous company... if you’ve made to the on-site , I guess u e good at SQL, Hive etc.. they use Hive so knowing a bit of Hive query is good.. they will also give u real case studies like... “if you see a 200% increase in CTR on Apple devices for Video ads, how will you find out reason for increase in CTR”... Finally, do study how advertisement works on FB as 97% revenue comes from ads by studying products like FB Ad types... also, be prepared with examples of a campaign u ran on Facebook and how you justified ROI...I would also suggest to be prepared with examples outlining communication plan for offshore people.. coz for example, SMB team is in Austin and LATAM team sits in Brazil... do share ur past experience how you managed people who were not at HQ... all the best... Facebook is an amazing company , do ur best!
Thanks everyone. I will do my best to prepare. My background is in sales analytics mostly. I have also done business analytics before. Btw, i didn't get any technical question on SQL or python up until now.
How did it go?
OP, how far along are you ? How was the interview ?
