I know some other Seattle companies like Microsoft are partnered with the program and help with admission. Does Amazon help at all or have connections with the program? Have any of your co-workers gotten their MS there!
I'm in the program and see a lot of Amazon folks in class. I think they must be getting some form of reimbursement.
Do you feel like it's worth it? How easy is it to get in as a Microsoft employee?
It used to be nice but these days the standards have gone down drastically. I think the CS dept. at UW sees this as a cash cow program and they're admitting very low quality students. Mostly students who've transferred to the US from India from shitty schools. As a result, your peers and the questions asked in class are downright stupid if not a waste of time. That being said, the professors are still top notch and you can take advantage of them. I try to avoid in person classes now and watch the lecture videos at home. Then I attend the professors office hours if necessary.
I️ was going to ask if there were any loop holes as well. I️ spoke with my recruiter and they said there are not reimbursement options and they won’t adjust salary for this. I’d love to attend uwash and the advisor said google and ms have options to do so. I️ don’t know the validity of this claim but I️ hope amazon decides to do something.
Was considering it since Axon has $5000 reimbursement for education. I was told by David the advisor that I would have a chance if I had worked at Google or Facebook for 7+ years. Lol. Saw folks got in with no or little experience and majored in Humanity. Ok, I am just being bitter but you get the point. Maybe I’ll try to get in to Google and apply 7 years later. LOL

Is it cheaper to eat chipotle everyday than buy groceries ?
I am interested in knowing this as well. I have masters but would be interested in taking ad hoc courses from UW.
University of Washington is being talked about here, not University of Wisconsin :D
What's makes you think I would stay in WI long? Lol
