Looking to move to Canada.. spoke to some recruiter inside Cisco, heard cisco doesn't sponsor Visa for the move. Does anybody know any company which would help sponsor visa and then hire? Please let me know if someone has does this before.
It might be easier to just apply for Canadian PR yourself (through express entry).
It looks like a huge process.. WES verification, FBI etc! Not sure where to even start
The process costs $5k to get everything done. Not worth it if not planning to live at least 4 years till you get citizenship. Else need to go through the process again if not meeting residency requirements
True.. i am looking at staying long term.. but just too many steps involved.. just seeing if there is any agency which helps with this.. or do companies sponsor for employees
Microsoft and Amazon do sponsor visas for this. There might be a few more but small companies in very specialized areas which is rather an exception than norm
Thanks - mainly wanted to know the Big companies- Amazon/ MS do, do it.
No worries ... sure... although I would make the same recommendation ... get pr on ur own. The process is a lot smoother than US. The fbi clearance is more of a head ache from the US side than Canada. And you can still submit application while clearance is still in process from US, if you score enough points to get PR invite.
Another major advantage of PR, if you are into remote work, you can work for any us based company ... be self employed in canada and save a lot on taxes. Being remote you won't even require living closer to major city and can buy cheaper property. Finally in bc right now, if you are not a pr, you have to pay 15% tax if you wish to buy a property
Infosys will sponsor
They transfer you if your visa is expiring and your BU has an office in Canada. Thats ways its easier for taxes to send you to Canada. Other than that, they won't make an effort for your convenience !
Microsoft got me a 3 year work permit for Canada. I live in US, but have thr option to live in Canada if I want.
significant pay cut in Canada. doesn't nearly make up for the benefits. cant imagine how anyone can justify this unless they are trying to get cheap college for kids.

With Canada, you can sponsor your own PR.
