I'm a principal at Microsoft interested at trying consulting. I can't seem to find a salary match though. I've tried Accenture, Slalom, and McKinsey.
Principal engineer or designer or PM? I thought McKinsey would pay in that range, but you’d probably have to be a partner with serious sales responsibilities. For a strictly IC role I doubt it. I love the folks at Slalom but they don’t pay nearly as well as I hoped.
McKinsey can totally do that... what level did you interview at?
Engagement manager .director. $260k offer
Any top tier consulting firm McKinsey, big, bain.
Em is a senior position at mck. You shoukd at least look at principal or partner. Most people at mckinsey make partner in about 10 years or less. It's up or out there.
Most people AT McKinsey make Partner in 10 years or less. The people who didn’t are NOT at McKinsey anymore.
Yup. Which is why it's not worth going there unless you made principal at MSFT like in 3 4 years after graduation.
Y consulting, with full time you get the pay plus more benefits such as vacation
I am in the same boat, can you please share ur McK offer details
$200k base + $60k bonus, prod, etc
U can also go in as a functional expert
Surprisingly some Indian like SIs with HQ in US will do around 300K TC for emerging tech focus roles at Dir or Sr Dir level.
Accenture pays $300K plus for MD roles. It sounds like they want you at the level below.
