Keeping it classy here. I want to get that 60k sapphire points bonus from chase and need to move $75k in. I’d hate to just park cash there at a crappy interest, so I though I would just move my Vanguard brokerage account, but never heard of anybody doing that before. Have you done it? Was it easy?
How much higher? Those sapphire points are juicy
60k points is $600 Do the math and see if it’s worth it to you.
When buying flights it’s worth $900. Just parking $75k cash there for 3 months is better than any CD I know of. So I don’t mind parking I would have at a HYSA. But then I thought it might be even better to keep my cash at Barclays and park part of my Vanguard account instead. It then again, if this implies fees, then it’s not worth it.
Seems like an awful lot of hassle for $900 (minus fees). But at least you have quantified your upside.
It's worth it if you're transferring etfs suchs as VTI and park them over there for 6 months. I am considering doing it myself as 60k points is worth way more than 600$, unlike what someone said above. Amongst all the brokerage transfer bonus out there this is one of the best. However there is a 75$ fee when transferring out assets of the account that are not cash.
How is it worth way more? It’s $0.01 per point if you get cash back and points are worth 1.5x if you buy from Chase Rewards site. So anywhere from $600-900 is fairly accurate.
Travel partners my dear. Nobody does cashback and I rarely use them to book in the ur portal
I wouldn’t bother with this. That is a terrible reward for $75k in deposits and it will almost definitely be upped later in the year. They do promotions where they give 100k rewards points just for signing up to Chase Sapphire credit card and spending $3k. This isn’t worth the hassle.
The 100k offer is long gone and will never come back
Also, I already have the sapphire reserve. In fact this sapphire checking offer is only for sapphire card customers.
Chase funds has higher expense ratios than vanguard funds. Not worth doing.
