Any hope that Discovery will improve the culture at HBO?

I’m on the lookout for design roles and want to stay in media/entertainment, but I’m not keen to Amazon or Netflix. I’ve always loved HBO as a channel of course, but the app is wonky and I know the work culture has taken a hit under ATT. What’s the sentiment like inside? Any hope it’ll improve things? TC: 210

cant speak about HBO/WM/ATT but Discovery culture is great, i hope the merger doesn’t ruin it (i doubt it will since David Zaslav is leading the new company)

Thanks for the perspective, that’s what I was hoping to hear. I never wanted to work there under ATT, but I’m a bit more hopeful now and might start looking at listings there

What hits are you referring to? How is the app wonky? You can DM

I’ve seen threads here on Blind (and elsewhere) referring to employee unrest with the direction AT&T has taken things and how much better work life was beforehand. If that’s not your experience, I’d love to know! Re: “wonky” I didn’t intend any offense, just referring to the perception that the UX is not as streamlined as some others.

the HBO designers are pretty good IMO, it might’ve just be the implementation sucked:) no worries tho, it’s gonna be better soon

HBO cultures is pretty laid back, people are really hardworking. As far as wonky app goes , it’s getting fixed and what company has no bugs in their software? With merger upcoming stability might be an issue.
