Any idea on the H1B approval, denial & RFE rates at with EY, Deloitte, PwC and Accenture ?
Consulting firms should be banned from applying for h1b. Just because of the track record of them abusing the program. You can say philosophically there is a justification but the actual practice has been they abuse it. I hope USCIS will crack down. I am seeing way too many excellent engineers losing the lottery because of all the low quality applications submitted by consulting firms. (And no I'm not applying I have my GC already.)
They will argue that they have Masters degree from US university. And you will argue that degrees means nothing. Then they will say you are racist. That's usually how the argument goes.
Can you elaborate on why you think consulting firms abuse applying for h1b? I want to apply for tier 2 visa in London via a consulting firm.
My friend got an RFE for his visa filed by PwC. He got it eventually. PwC s lawyers took care of it.
And you’re taking it on yourself to deduce that “excellent engineers” aren’t getting jobs. Does that mean anything that isn’t engineering isn’t speciality? And no the H1B doesn’t specifically call for engineers - more specifically software engineers as the only ones deemed worthy of it. I don’t think the companies you listed above are true abusers, truly excellent people can come from anywhere, they don’t have to just to be “engineers”. It’s exactly the sort of holier than thou attitude that gives all of us a bad name. Instead of pointing fingers, appreciate the fact that everyone is human and has their hopes and aspirations, being a great software engineer does not make you worthy of calling everyone else out.
But it's software engineers where there is a shortage. If I post a job ad for a Sr. PM I will get many qualified Americans applying. If I post an ad for a Sr. SDE may not get any qualified Americans applying.
That’s more relevant for a green card isn’t it?
Don’t rely on Pwc. I think they intentionally file ur application late. Only 1 out of 10 grads from my school got selected
