I am a grad student and I have offer from Amazon. I am trying to message university recruiters of other FAANG for internship interview opportunity on LinkedIn without any success. Whats the best way or did anyone have success connecting with recruiters online?
Success rate should be around 9%. Are you doing better / worse than that? Approx. At least need to send 30-40 messages
Thanks for your reply. Well i would have sent out around 50 connection requests since monday and 3 accepted. But when i message those 3 there is still no reply. Any advice would you give me?
Yeah so about that, that probably won't work. I got 1 connection request replied to. Pay the premium monthly fee, it's worth it. Start in mailing biweekly.
Sign up for a trial of LinkedIn premium (don’t forget to cancel later) and send and InMail instead of a connection request. Good luck!
Thanks, I was thinking about it. But 5 inmails per month doesnt seem like will get me anywhere. Do you think its a better idea ?
Picking the top 5 recruiters and sending them an InMail won’t hurt :) Sometimes if you are a 2nd connection you can use direct messaging and not have to use InMail credits.
My advice would be not to be desperate when reaching out to recruiters. Let them know youre interested in the **company** and would like to speak about general opportunities available within. Most people fuck up with the "Hi, I applied for this job. Could we talk sometime?" BS. Source: got my current job at LinkedIn by reaching out to a recruiter on LinkedIn.
Yeah, leverage your offer. Make sure you let them know you have an Amazon offer when you reach out to them. That should help. When I was a senior in college, I leveraged an interview with google to get one at Facebook. I just reached out to a recruiter and showed that I was interviewing with Google, and that was all it took.
Yeah I let them know, but there is not much of an response till now. How did you reach out to recruiters then?
Haha
