Any top tier tech companies in Florida?

By top tier, I mean any company that can pay close to FAANG . It doesn't have to be an "elite" tech company. I'm interested in relocating to Florida and want to start exploring companies

Early 2000s - Motorola had a big engineering division in plantation/ ft lauderdale. After the iphone that’s all dead now .

They have a small Salesforce office in Florida, but it won’t be top tier tc unless you already work at Salesforce and then relocate. Best option is working remote. You do not want to deal with Florida traffic, trust me. If you’re coming from Facebook, you might be able to get a company with deep pockets like JP Morgan in Tampa to pay you top tier tc that is way out of band and locals will never achieve. Companies in most states would pay more for candidates with Silicon Valley experience. Florida would pay a LOT more for someone from FB. There is also an Apple office in Orlando, but I believe they specialize in graphics. Why don’t you try working for a top tier remote friendly company in the bay? Square, Twitter, Stripe, Twilio, etc

Citrix pays pretty well in Fort Lauderdale

Not even close to low Bay Area tier tc. Magic leap, ultimate software, and chewy pay more.

Literally not even FAANG will pay you low Bay AreaTC in Florida

Salesforce ploeiend Feb 13, 2020

If you cost adjust the TC from san fran to florida cities you are looking for jobs paying $150k-$200k to match $300k-$350k jobs. There are plenty of companies in florida that will pay this for top talent. Ultimate, EA, Salesforce, Microsoft (primarily technical sales related), Magic Leap, various startups, Disney, various consulting including big 4, Amex.

I would avoid Ultimate for the time being. I don't think they would hire at that high of a salary right now either, there is a lot of cost cutting and tight fisting with the recent acquisition. Seniors that are leaving (and some are rumored to be getting managed out) in that payband are being replaced with juniors, year end raises were very underwhelming as compared to previous years, and there is talk of severance packages for higher paid employees and capped salaries in the internal blind channel.

Yup. No reason to work for a company IN Florida

i wonder if u can work fully remote in Puerto Rico and pay 0 federal and state taxes? Just 4% PR taxes. although I think that only works if u start your own biz and hire locals in PR

The company that owns Burger King has an office in Miami Beach - you can get 200k there

So do all the porn companies.

I know a couple of people who work at Disney in Orlando . Decent pay. Possibly could become the next streaming giant.

Magic Leap? Although they have been having trouble delivering lately.

I’m starting at Disney in a couple weeks. As a family man with a large family, the perks of Disney would out weigh just about any FAANG compensation I could get. If this doesn’t apply to you it might be tough to find that level of comp. COL adjusted it isn’t that bad, much better than the mountain state city I’m leaving.
