I'm at $400k... Most I've ever made. But I feel like my only options after this are big tech companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon. Just stuck at another company where I'm a pair of hands. I miss working at a startup where I have a big impact. Even smaller tech companies can't compare with compensation. At a similar role with Zillow, got up to $200k. Offerup, tableau, a bunch of agencies can't compare in compensation either. What are your thoughts people of Blind?
Is this a humble brag?
You are correct. The only advancement options are to level up significantly, or to accept a much higher risk profile
I wish I had your problems
I'm L66 at Microsoft for those wondering. Came from IBM. TC there was $220k so this was a big jump for me. But now I feel stuck.

400!! whats ur grade? experience??
14 years of experience
ok. that is respectable!! i think after a certain stage in career to really grow the only options are to stop working for someone else and do something of your own.. if you are ok with paper money you could look at some early stage start ups and get 2-3 points worth of stocks in seed or early series A stage and build the product/company .. In ideal scenario this is more profitable than cash centric salary
