I’m in tech but a completely different industry. I got approached by EA and entertained the conversations because I love their games but am wondering what their company culture is like and how employment there is viewed by other companies in case I ever want to leave? Don’t see myself in gaming forever but think it’d be fun to work at a company like that in the Bay before I have kids. TC: 120 YOE: 3
Really enjoyed my time at EA (2013-2016). The culture was fun/hard working; seemed like most people in my org were high performers. The company is incredibly efficient and has plateaued in terms of margin efficiency, they need to generate other sources of revenue to maintain the momentum they had pre Anthem.
Appreciate this insight! When you left EA, were other companies impressed with your experience at EA? I want to make sure I don’t pidgeonhole myself into a particular industry
Yes, but only because I went to another gaming company and they appreciated the insights on EA
Depends on the teams. Overall working at Redwood City HQ was great. Pros: Good campus Onsite daycare Cool people Cons: No free lunch Politics
EA is a terrible company to work for. It is literally one of the most notorious company in the gaming industry for having the worst WLB
If you are a video game developer, 100%
Appreciate the insights. This would be more in product management so I’m hoping the WLB would be better than developers. Do you guys think you had good exit opportunities? I don’t want to limit myself just to the gaming industry going forward

No one has ever worked for Electronic Arts (EA) gaming company. Their video games are all 👽 sent.
Lol real talk they are out of this world. Been hooked on them for like 10+ years.
