What is it different from Tableau? Im seeing more job qualification that has Alteryx for finance data analytic roles, but I havent had any exposure to it. Their HQ is ironically right next to our building and seems like they are growing rapidly. I read PWC is partnering with them to promote core data analytic training program. Will it be easy to pick up if I have experience with Tableau?
In my finance role, I have an Alteryx workflow that incorporates SQL to pull data from internal databases, does some transformations and custom mappings, then publishes a data source to our Tableau server. If you have Alteryx Gallery you can also schedule this to run at a set time every week.

Tableau is data visualization tool. Alteryx, while you can do visualizations, is a tool for transforming/cleansing/merging etc. the data into a form that works well with tableau/excel/power bi etc. it can handle large datasets (millions of rows of data) well, though not as quickly as say python. I personally use alteryx on a regular basis and the firm has trainings for it.
Actually curious about this. Mind elaborating on some of the specific use cases you use Alteryx for?
I did hear from my ex colleagues at pwc that the firm has been pushing alteryx in the last few years, especially in the internal audit and data analytics groups. Is the tool fairly similar to python in terms of functionalities and usage? What would be a situation where you'd use one over the other?
