I'll trade a referral at Careem for a referral at any tech company that pays competitively in SF, seattle or nyc EDIT: We're also hiring for our Berlin office. Not interested? I'd still appreciate a referral.☺️ Careem is Uber's competitor in this region (middle east north africa) and 1 of only 2 unicorns in the middle east. It's so freaking hard to get interviews when I'm on the other side of the globe even though I clarify that I'm a US citizen. I think my resume is strong. I atleast got an interview from Google last year when I was a new grad. But nothing this time. I have 8 months experience. So anyway Careem pays alot and hands out large raises (for now) and there's no tax here in Dubai. Would appreciate referrals for companies that pay on the higher end. I'll start getting taxes so I don't want to take too much of a pay cut. Interested in all the big tech companies + unicorns + breakout startups + Twitch and Riot Games
Even if they pay me million i will not go tomiddle east.
Lol. I wouldn't want to live there forever, but I'd be open to spending a year or two there if it meant coming back with $$$ in the bank.
Like the guy above said. Dubai is a very transient place. People from western counties generally are here temporarily, usually to make money. That said we're also hiring for Berlin.
No thanks. I would rather live in a country where my wife has rights and can drive.
She can have a driver though; female of course :-)
It's not Saudi Arabia. These guys are alot more chill. Mainly because they need that tourism money. By the way Saudi Arabia is one of careem biggest markets mainly because half the population there can't drive. We're actually solving a big problem.
I forgot to mention. We're also hiring for our Berlin office if anyone wants to go there.
Perhaps this is a long shot, but I would love to work there. I'm a U.S. Citizen currently looking for work. My family want me to be a cop, but I really don't want to.
Lol, I just got back from ME. Uber was dirt cheap there! In Dubai, the cost of living is crazy high for a decent place. It'd be a great place to have on a resume though...
I'll give you a referral to twitch. Not sure how to dm here...
Can you help me out as well?
I m interested for Berlin location

What's your policy on hiring Jews? (It's an actual wuesrion for Middle Eastern companies)
What's the highest total comp you know of for a normal IC?
What's the salary range for a senior dev with 10+ years exp? Is Arabic a factor / bonus?
Arabic doesn't matter. Everyone speaks English. I honestly have no clue how much we're paying senior devs. I got $72k + stock options as a new grad. I'm not sure how that scales up with experience. I do know that at our first semi annual performance review last June, there were salary increments of 0-20%+
I'd be open to hearing more around the $200k mark, assuming it's tax free. Might vary, depending on COL.
