Hi, is there anyone working for Cruise? I would love to join the company but want to get some feedback on my background and see what role fits me the best. I’m a trained robotic/motion control engineer with a MS from top school. Worked 5 yrs as an engineer and then founded a startup as the CEO in a completely unrelated domain. i also did mobile programming, raised a little captial, built partnerships with fortune 500 companies.
If you’re trying to join as an SDE, how are you at leetcode? That’s all that really matters, along with some system design.
So they won’t ask anything about control theory and technique? Like LQR and nonlinear control etc?
Depends what role you're interested in, I'm certain there would be one for your qualifications at Cruise. They seem to have quite a few openings https://getcruise.com/careers/
Thanks for sharing the link. I am looking into either PM or control engineer
I can help with specifics if you dm me
I sent you a message. Thanks
Happy to answer any questions you have
Thank you for your help. I am mainly debating if PM or control engineer is a better role for me. Do you have any information regarding the two roles? Like what are the teams looking for. Thanks
The roles are reasonably different. If you like writing code engineering is better. If you enjoy problem analysis and roadmapping PM is better
Overqualified
Thank you for the kind words! I am looking to be a product manager or control engineer
