I love in West San Jose and it's only like 35 mins at 7 am and 40-45 at 8.

I suggest rent an air bnb for a bit and try the neighborhood before you actually sign a lease.

    • That sounds reasonable, your commute is shorter than mine. If I leave at 7am and it’s 30mins. If I leave at 8, then there’s no bus. Another bus has a lot of stops and takes 1hr10mins to reach google campus.

I usually go to the GOVO office that’s 15mins drive away if I miss my bus and they have a bus every 25mins direct to campus

Good advice. I will airbnb first then find a good location to rent. Google map shows very bad traffic from Google MTV to both W San Jose and N San Jose at 5:50pm. Will try to find closer apartments in SunnyVale.

Consider the Google Bus, much nicer in carpool lanes with WiFi than driving.

I drove my first two days and it's frustrating being stuck on an on ramp for 20 mins while giant busses whiz by rocking your car... I got possess the busses lol.

Thanks @AT&T MsdR32: Very good advice. I also hate driving when traffic is bad. I will find some apartments close to Google Bus stops.

    • I would try to live near GOVO office as they have bus every 25mins. You can park there safely and not be worried about being towed. Other bus stops might not be as generous.

would recommend Sunnyvale downtown. Many newer apartments. Only 10 mins to MTV campus if no traffic.

Sunnyvale downtown is very small. Just look around Murphy ave. Would recommend checking along GBus routes

+1 for Sunnyvale. The location now is such a central hub to everything in the peninsula and South Bay. Beware the housing market there is also very hot.

  • Getting out of google campus is 30 mins during rush hour. Expect an hr if you don’t live in Mountain View.

are you serious? Then how about 30 min drive, not in peak rush hours?
      Dec 9, 2019
    • I live in north San Jose and take the first google bus out in the morning at 7am and it takes me 30mins. Evening around 50mins on the bus.
      Dec 9, 2019
    • Don’t live further south than north San Jose, or Santa Clara. There are 20k employees on this campus so that’s why a lot of traffic.

Thanks for your advice. I check google map. The traffic in 101 during rush hours is very bad. When do you leave in the evening? Or maybe google bus is faster than driving?
