App Idea

Uber/Lyft competitor that automatically routes your request to whichever app is either cheaper/faster at the time, for only a small fee.

Freebird is doing something similar but you still have to manually switch between them (within the Freebird app, rather than between the Uber/Lyft apps themselves) because the Uber/Lyft TOS disallows direct price comparisons.

How does google maps get around that then?

Then it’s not a competitor. Do you know what a competitor is?

VMware roger2018 Feb 6, 2019

Few apps and websites ready do that which is like “Kayak” for ride sharing services! You are only late by a couple of years. But first understand what competition means. If your app routes your request to a provider then how is it competing with them?

Microsoft Tier 1 OP Feb 6, 2019

Sigh. I wanted to write down my idea before my doctors appointment. I know what competitor means. What apps do this?

Google maps does this already. And it’s not a sustainable biz. Either Uber or lyft can cut off your access and you die. And plus why would they support you? The average consumer will check both lyft and Uber to find the cheapest one. If you do this, no way your data can be as accurate as the real data. Why would consumers pay for this shit when they can just check the actual app for free? You haven’t thought things through and you’re not likely to be a real entrepreneur. There aren’t10 ride sharing companies. Only 2. Plus they can limit your API rate. The most useless idea ever.

G Maps shows you the price breakdown of ride sharing apps

Microsoft Tier 1 OP Feb 6, 2019

It’s too slow and gives you ranges, not the actual price. I just want to get a ride as quickly as I do by opening Uber, but not paying $50 when Lyft offers the same ride for $20

Why would Uber/Lyft give you access to do this?

I think theres an app called bellhop for this
