hows the company culture? glassdoor reviews are overall good, but looks like after Cisco, its no longer same and lot of people left the company, as per glassdoor recent reviews I saw. tc- 310k yoe - 15
That does seem high for a SE, sounds like a sales rep comp
A lot of the senior sales leaders that built the culture have left in the last 6 months. Sales is getting more Cisco-centric over time.
You won’t get 310k as an AppD SE unless you’re in Bay Area. It’s true we’ve had several key sales leaders leave but the SE org has been fairly stable. And even with the attrition (expected given most pre-acquisition grants have recently fully vested), we’re still crushing our numbers and are now the largest APM vendor both in market share and y/o/y growth. Pretty good place to be for the next couple years. AppD Sales will not become a Cisco overlay anytime soon. Cisco is making a concerted effort to become more of a software company and the AppD sales team is built for that. The rest of Cisco, not so much.
Do they pay more that 310K TC? That’s pretty high for a field SE. I work a plenty with Cisco field sales teams and it doesn’t seem too bad to me. IMO, internal company culture and field sales culture can be very different. Right now AppD operates as a bit of a one off unit within Cisco if I’m correct, so probably a bit more autonomy. Ultimately, I imagine they’ll operate as an overlay team which has its +/-s.
