Have been struck with bad wlb and same work for few years at Apple. There had been few recruiters approaching me from Google and Facebook and would like to give it a shot. I am focused on infra and sre work, my heart wants to be in google. I would like like to know if anyone that moved to F/G and felt like day and night from Apple? Infra overall at Apple is average with stale tech stack from what I worked, wondering how’s the overall stack from an infra engineering and SRE is. Eventhough I don’t mind working few hours extra each day, it’s mostly bandaid work and not learning anything new. So, kinda wanna make a move. Yoe - 10 TC - 300 IC4
Join Google, SRE is well respected here and the infra is always evolving. Good WLB as well - usually reasonable on call hours also compensated additionally.
The problem is that L5 pay at Google is typically less than ICT4 at Apple. OPs comp seems like an outlier.

I can’t weigh-in on the transition but it sounds like you know what the right next step is :). No harm in opening up a conversation with the recruiter - may help build confidence in what’s best for you.
