For folks working here in Apple hardware engineering positions- could you comment on your work life balance? Do you generally work on the weekends? How many hours a day typically do you work/have to work?

SEG (IC level) or System Level (PCB design, validation/verification, communicate with vendors & etc.)?

If you are in hardware and in PD everyday is a weekday and need to write a code which can extend the loop can make 24 hr in a day to 48hr....

Apple iamshroud Oct 18, 2019

105hr a week 30days before tapeout

Intel blild Oct 18, 2019

Seems like bad management to me if that is common.

Apple kRVM18 Oct 18, 2019

I think you mean 105 hr every two weeks. Which is a lot more reasonable. And tapeout timeframe is the most intense time for IC designers. Which makes sense

One of my friends work on weekends. Horrible manager pushing for more to get done

Apple awdr Oct 18, 2019

40hrs/week. Don't have to work on weekends that often. Depends on the team and role.
