Currently in talks with Apple about compensation for an ICT3 HW position (5 years of experience). Strangely the recruiter insisted that she couldn't go to the compensation team without getting a figure from me. I asked for a range and they said 110K to 170K with 90ish RSU's. Assuming I fall in the middle of the range this seems very low. I was aiming for 160 base and 140 RSU. Am I way off? Edit: I am an MS
$160K for ICT3 at 5 years of work ex is impossible to get at Apple, unless you have a unique skillset and the team really needs it. Realistic is $130K for 5 years ICT3. RSU can be $110K
Skillset is somewhat unique but I can't tell yet if they really need me
Let me put it this way: since you have 5 yrs exp., and are offered an IC3 level, I assume you only have a BS, otherwise it would be IC4 with an MS, or IC5 with a PhD with 5 yrs. For an IC3, 160k base is very unlikely, from an HR point of view. I think there are many IC4s at Apple that make less than 160k for base. I guess the worst that can happen is they will reject your offer and you can see what they offer and meet in the middle. Apple folks, any comments?
Hey thanks for the reply. I have an MS and from what I heard from a current employee MS + 5 years is ICT3
From what I heard MS with 5 yrs exp could be IC3, and PhD with 5 yrs exp could be IC4.
Which location is this ? Bay Area or Austin
Base 160 is too high... but RSU of 140K is possible.. 4 years ago I got apple offer of 115k base with 110k rsu I had 3-4 years of experience at that time.
I joined HW with BS + 5 years exp at IC3 128/105/20
I joined with MS + 5 years experience at IC3 140/105/35 My friend with similar experience just got an offer for 140/105/20 They told me 150 base was the cap for my role and 105 for RSUs
160 is high for ict3 HW
And RSU's?
100RSU is my est
