Apple Layoff before Start Date?

Question

Hi, I’m graduating from college this semester and will be starting at Apple HQ as a SDE in mid July.

Is it possible to get laid off before even starting to working at Apple? Or should I expect my start date to get pushed  back or a salary slash?
