Apple Pay doesn’t allow you to request or send amounts over $10,000 via iMessage. As certain (insert protected class) are more represented in groups wanting to transfer over $10,000, this is discrimination against (insert protected class).
I know this post is a joke, but the $10k limit is not an arbitrary choice: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bank_Secrecy_Act The bureaucratic overhead to do peer to peer payments > $10k just isn’t worth it, Apple Pay cash would essentially have to become a bank. Edit: classic off by one error, updated “>=“ to “>”
Really?
Try sending me $10,000 on iMessage if you want.
I don’t get it just use PayPal or split it into multiple transactions or something
10k is always the limit. That's why we have crypto for money transfers.
Venmo’s limit is $2999, so 10k for Apple Pay is pretty good
Discrimination doesn’t work that way.
Discrimination works however you need it to to make your point these days
A CTR is required for any transaction over 10k. So find a better solution for moving money in a legal manner rather than cry foul.
It’s a matter of money laundering and fraud, KYC, AML policies. Nothing apple is hiding or “discriminating” from their customers
