Apple compensation

I have been asked by an Apple recruiter (hardware) to provide base salary expectations as they work on my offer. I have a PhD and 14-15 years of experience both in relevant area. Any ideas what's a good salary range in Bay area for this experience? Thanks in advance.

It may be better to ask them for the compensation range and insist that you want market competitive comp. You don't have to tell them your expectation and with the new laws (in California) they have to share the comp range with you.

Yep first to say a number loses. Best to let them set the initial range no matter how many games they try to play to get you to say yours first.
