I know a lot about the culture, pay and benefits, WLB of MS, Facebook, Google and Amazon. But I hear very little about Apple... Can someone from Apple help answer those questions? 1- WLB: is it similar to Amazon and Facebook? or closer to Google and Microsoft? 2- Benefits and Pay: Do they typically pay well (good sign-on + refreshers), or are they frugal like Amazon and Microsoft? 3- Pip culture: is it like Amazon and Facebook? or closer to MS and Google? 4- Happiness at work: are managers nice, or is it like Amazon? what about politics? thanks in advance!
All these questions were asked many times. This is what an Apple employee replies... 1- WLB : Depends on your team. 2- Benefits and Pay: depends on your level 3- Pip culture: depends on your performance 4- Happiness at work: depends on how much you like your work.
Lol so « it depends ». I guess we can say the same for any company. Even Albertsons
Yes, it really depends on org in Apple I’m in AMP. 1. WLB is good but not as good as in G. I would say in most cases < 40 hours but not like 25. 2. Pay: Google > Apple > Amazon on average. But I know at least 2 guys who got higher offers from Apple than from G because downleveling. 3. Closer to MS and Google. 4. I don’t know how nasty managers are in Amazon so couldn’t say for sure. A lot of Apple folks answer “depends on org” because unlike for example Google, Apple leaves a lot of decisions to managers discretion, so YMMV. Bonuses are not included in job offers, there’s no unified formula for refreshers and even snacks distribution is not centralized, but sponsored by your org. So, yes, it depends.
