For Apple employees who do not work at the main campus how does it feel? Do you feel left out? What perks are you missing out on? Do you feel like a second class citizen? How often do you go to main hq for meetings or just for fun?
Yes, the main campus is awesome. The gym is by far the best, with awesome hot tubs and steam rooms, the cafeteria is beautiful and huge, and the parks feel like Golden gate Park. Love to visit. Been there only a couple of times
I’m a bit jealous, because AP is such a breathtaking campus. But my team will be moving to IL so I guess it’s the second best option.
Looks like someone is jelous if not getting an offer from Apple ? All employees will have access to the park
Yes, it feels like a 2nd class citizen. Some Apple buildings in Sunnyvale are just plain and uninspiring, not only that, they hire a lot and start putting 2-3 employees in one tiny cube. Quite disappointed coming from Adobe where the office is artsy, pleasing, aesthetic and open to everyone. I can’t even get to some events relevant to my job because I am not AP resident.
AP is beautiful but as an employee it’s horrible to be there. Parking is hell. You have to walk 15 min just to get to back to back meetings. I prefer the other buildings.
I’m undecided. It is gorgeous, the gym is fantastic, you can run outside on the hiking trails, hold meetings outdoors - there is a lot of appeal. However, there are certain ‘cons’ as well: no individual offices or even cubes, fish tanks for 3-4 people in it. Getting in or out takes about 15 mins and adds to any errand you gave outside of it. Acoustics is weird. Not sure if there are enough meeting rooms, heard there weren’t.
Yes I do.
