Apple offer evaluation
A short update: Thank you everyone for your helpful comments and advice. After another round of negotiation, they increased my base for 5000! I rejected the offer and the recruiter got really mad! She started yelling at me saying that if I start with the higher level, there will be crazy expectations and I cannot handle the job!!! Well, I felt really insulted and disrespected after all. Is this normal? The recruiter can yell at you and say what type of job you can handle??? I tried to calm her down and end it with good words, but she was really angry!! I am afraid of she puting a note or something on my application that might impact my future applications! Can she do that? ========================================== Hi everyone. Yoe: 4.5 I did very well in my interview and this is a great match, but I feel this is a bit low considering the education level and yoe. What do you think?
That is shit comp for a PhD and 4.5 yoe. Should be at least 180 base and 160 rsu and even then it’s on the low side.

OP don't forget that your current salary is also a competing offer, you can definitely use that as leverage and ask higher

Apple doesn’t have a hiring committee, but rather maybe the recruiter was trying to say the hiring manager (and probably his/her manager) was trying to discuss.
Just reject the offer. You can make more even at Intel

ava2020 sounds a lot like what AMP org might be interested in. Also interview at other places including netflix if you are willing to walk away from Apple
You do need to get at least one competing offer. If not, maybe just work for Apple for a few years, and then for your next move, make sure to get a few counter offers.
This offer is just disrespectful for someone with your qualifications :( But if you really don't like where you are now then go to Apple but otherwise I would reject/play hard ball.
