Considering that one data center represents about a 1b investment, not that crazy. It’s why this “cloud” thing works, even for apple who arguably focuses on higher value experiences.
This is solid news.
It all comes down to financing and ROI. In some cases AWS makes sense, in others one’s own data center is a cheaper solution.
Cost isn’t the only consideration
That's a lot of bananas. Like, even if you buy organic ones, that's a lot!
Apple has its cloud and it sucks a lot. Far behind. Even OCI is so advance for apple cloud. AMG are light years ahead. I interviewed with the team.
That’s crazy that Apple hasn’t invested in their own data centers for a cloud solution. It’s like if Netflix were to use AWS for their content
Technically any software company can spin up their own cloud. But is that their line of business? Is that their focus? Amazon can come up with an Outlook if required but if someone did it for you why spend your energy on a solved problem?
Netflix does use AWS for their content
