Because Tim Cook released a letter saying iPhone is not selling as well in China due to the trade war with the United States
What a bullshit excuse. They have been suffering from increased competition for at least the last 5 years. I remember in 2017 a photo was going around of the Hangzhou Apple store for the release of the iPhone X, there were like less than 10 people queuing.
Guidance lowered
Its bcoz people can change their iphone batteries and dont need to upgrade
It's because a device costing over 1k is not replaced every 24 months by most consumers.
Maybe this will finally be a wake up call to resume innovating instead of gauging.
Chinese competition is innovative at lower cost. If these companies get to sell in US, Apple will be $50 stock.
Unlikely, as most people are not buying the lowest cost models in the US. India on the other hand has chosen Chinese over Korean.
Throughout Asia iPhone is declining rapidly in popularity. There are so many nicer phones on the market for less than half the price.
Apple is not what it was even a decade ago. OSX is becoming a notification-bloated nightmare; too much focus on phones; upgrade treadmill is getting worse. Phones aren't that much better than the competition. I loved my 12" PowerBook G4 running 10.4 Tiger; it was head and shoulders above everything else. Now? Why would I want to go beyond El Capitan? There are no new must-have features yet already the feeling of being forced to upgrade against my will is getting stronger.
Whatโs happening? They cut down the Q4 revenue expectations from 93B to 83B
