Applying down the road after after declining an offer?

I have an offer for an AE position with Salesforce, but have better options for pay in different industries.

I feel like Salesforce would be the best option on a resume if I decided to move again, but am leaning towards my other opportunities. Nervous that saying no now forever closes that door.

Has anyone ever denied an offer, then gone back and re-applied a few years later? Frowned upon? Easy to go back to? Thoughts?

So the question is, if you get an offer and go another direction, are you essentially banned from employment for every working at that org?

I wouldn't worry about it. Market is competitive and even if you did move a different direction, I'd assume you'd be in your next role for a few years. Unless you accept a role and rescind acceptance, I don't think you are going to be black balled from them by any means. Congrats on the predicament btw! I was in a similar situation recently and had to rescind acceptance due to timing of the other offer (hence why I made that reference).

  • No, in fact I've declined a offer and was received with open arms when I asked them about another position. Turned that position down too.

It’s not a problem. Makes you even more attractive.
