I'm pretty new to interviews (The job I have was from intern and became fte) and I wanted to get bit more insight when applying for multiple positions a big company (like most big CA companies, ...). I'm assuming the recruiters can see all the opportunities I applied. Is it possible to interview for multiple different teams in a company (assuming they are interested)? Is it important to target a specific opportunity? What about if they both make an offer?
I am a hiring manager. More than 2 or 3 roles applied always looks desperate. By doing that you're admitting you bring nothing specific to any of those roles. You just need a job and any will do. It comes off desperate. There may be 2 teams represented on one loop for a specialist role. You will never get 2 offers. They will decide ahead of time which team you fit best. Sometimes if an applicant isn't a good fit for my team I'll forward to another manager where they might fit. But if you apply for 10 roles I will almost certainly disqualify you on the spot.
I see. Thanks for input. I look at opportunities like amazon and Microsoft and from a applicant perspective there are lot of cool openings (at least by description). I figured I'd rather know more before committing to them.
Sure! And at megacorps things are sometimes different. I still would not apply to more than 2 or 3 but that's just my opinion. Hopefully Blind can provide more data points. Good luck!
