Recruiter told me I was approved by HC as a L5, but given my current level/compensation, I could go through additional interview rounds to bump to a L6 position. How common is this and how hard it is to be successful after already receiving an approval for a lower level? Also, any tips on how those extra interviews are going to be compared to the regular loop? TC 350k

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

Wow! The stars are aligning for you my friend!
what's your current level/compensation?
Wow these phone scams are getting out of hand...
ROFL 🤣
Congrats. From what I understand it is pretty hard to promote into L6 so you should go for it. They clearly got some signal for L6 during hc. As long as you don't nuke your follow on interviews you are still guaranteed L5 either way right? I think the loop for L6 is like 3 system design normally vs 2 coding/2 system for L5. I wonder if your 2 followup sessions will be even more system design?
Thanks. Correct. I am planning to go for it. Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience on a similar situation and therefore any tips.
I actually had option for L6 followup but I was too lazy to try the follow-on and I was just happy enough to pass at L5.
Absolutely go for it. Nothing to lose, tons to gain. No brainer.
Go for it!
Google started trading levels, nice!
Happened to me as well. I got L6 offer after going for a L5 loop initially.
I wonder if you re-loop if you stay with the same recruiter and he gets credit. It doesn't seem they want to suggest a re-interview. I asked him but he just said I would have to reinterview all over again. I am considering it...
Never heard this before. Interesting
