I failed my SWE interviews at Google, but my recruiter said that I was close and can reuse my old interview results + do 3 additional interviews to try getting in through SETI/SRE track. Is it harder to pass since they're reusing my old results where I failed? Should I just wait until it's a clean slate again so that I can do a full 5 interviews?
SRE-SWE is same interview and loop. Are you sure it’s not SRE-SA?
I interviewed for pure SWE, but got rejected at HC. I was told I might be a better fit for either SRE or SETI, so I can reuse my old interviews and just do 2 extra interviews for SRE or SETI.
Incredibly weird. Ask your recruiter if it’s SWE-SRE or SRE-SA. SWE-SRE can transfer directly to SWE with no interviews so it doesn’t make sense.
Why transfer out ? Sre folks are humans too
You'll never have a clean slate. Old interview results are kept forever and are always visible to hiring managers and hiring committees.
I thought the hiring committee has access to old interview results, but prioritize looking at the most recent loop. My recruiter told me that my last loop's interviews would count towards this current loop, so it's not its own loop. I was wondering if it would be better to wait until I can get a new full loop with 5 interviews.
The loop thing is not a concept at Google
