I was just looking into all h1b salaries for Netflix and it looks like the average for senior software is 160 :(..since there is no bonus or stocks, this looks so low. I am not sure of how thats competitive. Any Netflix employee verify this data. There are like 100 salaries for this year. Just sort by submit date to get this years data. Or is this h1b data abuse lol.. https://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=NETFLIX%20INC&job=
It's not fake
I was offered 380k base + 19k options with 6 yoe. I don’t think high salaries are a myth.
OP said he was looking at H1B salaries. That would not necessarily be representative of all Netflix salaries, I am sure.
I am on H1-B. Btw I am not trying to imply every engineer will get 350k+ but rather giving a data point to support that it’s not a myth.
I forgot what the proper term for it was but the wage shown on h1b is a floor and doesn’t have to be actual. In this case Netflix presumably wants to keep actual salary data secret.
They only report slightly higher than prevailing wage, numbers are not inflated. My H1B reported salary was almost half of what I make
IANAL, but doesn't it have legal implications? EDIT: just saw a comment below, "the wage shown on h1b is a floor and doesn’t have to be actual"
Ah I see what you mean, that might be true so that prospective candidates doesnt ask for the same. Very smart move from Netflix.
I have 6 yoe, with 400k TC. I was ~220k at my last company. the pay isn’t a myth. Can also confirm that H1B pay can be similar from the job postings I’ve seen posted internally which are specific to H1B applicants.
Did you have any trouble getting a H1-B stamp with a discrepancy like that?
Were you at Microsoft before @Az2H91?
Not a myth. They just don't want to advertise what they pay. If you look at 2015 salaries it'll showthe true figures
Technically they are at par with other fang .. since we just have cash it shows up that way Others give lower base but higher stocks At the end if you are a good engineer you get paid well
High pays are definitely not a myth. 7yoe - 420k
Assume high Netflix salaries are for high impact employees who've been there some time or have a killer tech resume full of high profile American companies?
