Are Tesla cars a scam?

There’s a ton of pages/videos/blogs claiming that Tesla Cars are overpriced garbage. Manufacture quality is bad, Autopilot doesn’t really work well and the charge is not that convenient. I wanted a Tesla so bad but I am not sure now if I want to spend ~60k in something that is not really good. Still, there’s a lot of hard die fans of Tesla. What do you think blinders? #Tesla #cars #ev #selfdriving

I've owned a Model 3 for three years. Loved absolutely every minute of owning it.

I don't care about Elon; his politics, thoughts, or opinions. I just like the car and I don't pay for gas.

Have a model Y. Are they are great as people say? No. Are they as bad as people say? No. Still one of the best cars I’ve owned. No regrets here.

What do you like the most?

Amazon iOuF06 Apr 2, 2022

Boobs, but that’s irrelevant

Meta Chris Rock Apr 2, 2022

Overpriced and somewhat overrated but it’s fun to drive and preserves its value better than pretty much any car so I guess I can’t say it’s overpriced. It’s gone up like 5k since I bought it. The EV competition is pretty bad and the few good ones are much more expensive (lucid). No other company has the supercharger network that makes it easy to drive anywhere

Doesnt appreciate like a Porsche

Every used car has gone up in price last year

Smartsheet HbIQ28 Apr 2, 2022

The bmws have much better fit/finish

Salesforce °°° Apr 2, 2022

Exactly

Cisco ciscosec Apr 2, 2022

BMW fit and finnese is at an altogether a different level but it hurts to get them repaired every now and then 😭

DoorDash shiso Apr 2, 2022

No, they’re not a scam, but they’re not the godlike mechanical masterpieces that some people paint them as. The tech is nice, the infotainment system is world class, the build quality is decent, and the driving experience is good. They are good cars, but they are not leaps and bounds above the competition.

Meta lWnC30 Apr 3, 2022

Agree with everything you say except for the competition - if we’re talking about electric cars they are substantially better. Better battery, better tech, better charging network.

I am happy to be driving Tesla S for last 4 years. But build quality of new Tesla cars is worse (except probably model Y), some warranties have been reduced, you don't get tax credit anymore, and prices have increased. I wouldn't buy a Tesla now if I was in the market. I would wait for competition to heat up. I will buy next car in 2025, when I will have more choices

The best thing about ev's besides no gas is way less maintenance. And not needing to let the oil warm up to play 😈

Next Insurance newsbot Apr 2, 2022

The Porsche taycan is a better EV on every level than a model s. Not as much of a clear cut case for the economy models or SUV

PointClickCare ghostemane Apr 2, 2022

Mileage is terrible though

MongoDB TcwY80 Apr 2, 2022

Except range, but who cares? A Tesla might have double the range but is still tied to the charger grid. Plus you don't really own the Tesla, because the mother ship can cancel you at any time, or limit you with scarce approved repair shops and very low supply of parts. If anything goes wrong you'll be stuck. Either way you'll need a gas car for anything more than the commute. If you like tech and autopilot, get the Tesla. If you like to actually drive a performance car, get the Porsche. Different strokes.

Over priced kia. Looking foward for what subaru, Toyota and Honda put out. I still say hydrogen is future

GKN Automotive Sby921 Apr 2, 2022

Hydrogen is coming, but battery is still ahead for another decade or so. US Army TACOM had a hydrogen fuel cell generator on site for GM's Hummer EV ride & drive release demo a couple weeks ago in Arizona. Used it to recharge all the vehicles. The only thing truly holding it back is the infrastructure. Gas stations need to be replaced by hydrogen stations in equivalent quantity and locations to make it truly viable.

Amazon killrqueen Apr 2, 2022

I know but you see countries like German and Japan that are pushing their Infrastructures to get hydrogen ready while American hasn't pushed yet. I drove what's that the Mira that Toyota had in Japan it was nice and the price point is great. I know tesla guys like their driverless system but I could care less. Plus I have this feeling that the tech they use is not correct I have seen Infrared sensors really navigate terrain and surroundings so much better. I know the military uses that for their supply trucks that are driverless. Now that's the tech we need on civilian vehicles. But I get it tesla is just another data hoarding company and using their ev credits to sell to other companies
