I have nearly 2 full years of STEM OPT extension available. However I shall have only 1 (last) H1B chance the next year. I am looking for other job opportunities in the meantime. Has anybody here heard of (large-sized) employers denying an interview/offer simply because of this risk? (If I don't get said visa the next year, my stay in the US will be pretty much done for, once my current visa runs out). In general, what do the larger companies do when an employee's visa runs out? Send them back to their country?(provided there is an office) Flat out terminate employment?
HR helps you get in touch with a few mangers abroad (like Canada etc). You will most likely have to go through the full interview process with those teams. You're fired if no other team wants you.
If they want to retain you, and they have an office in any other country, they'll move you there. Canada and UK are common options. If they're tiny, they might not be able to do that (you may have to work remotely for them from your home country).
I know Facebook is not hiring stem OPT for sure. You can try Microsoft, Amazon
Interesting. What makes you say that about FB?
Before fb phone interview setup i filled an immigration form & later within 2 days the HR came back to me saying that they are no more hiring the stem OPT
