      There has been 30% inflation in the last year alone and salaries almost didnโ€™t increase so we are getting paid significantly less in relative terms.

    I think the top paying companies will get more competitive and harder to break into, but overall legacy industries will continue to pivot towards tech and hire more engineers with high wages. There will always be room for the $500k engineer, though.

    Yes but for neither of those reasons. Because the stock market is high.

    With higher comp tied to stock performance it stands to reason if the market hard, comp will probably take a hit too.

    Not that I think a recession is near or something, but it is high and thatโ€™s the big potential IMO.
