What level would Zuck be, had he not created FB
Relocating to Bay Area soon. What are some areas that I should avoid when searching for home? For example, I don’t want to love in a loud area where mostly college grads and singles live. Any park where there are many homeless people? An area where crimes are frequent? Basically, I am looking for sketchy areas to avoid. I am looking mainly San Mateo, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Los Altos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Sunnyvale Thanks TC: 500k
Entire south bay is boring and expensive as fuck at the same time
Yeah but I have family so boring is normal for me now
Los Gatos
East Palo Alto
all of the areas you named meet your criteria
Cambrian Almaden laid back chill places with decent number of apple employees
Avoid entire Bay Area
I wish I could but that’s where the job is and other cities don’t want me :(
Avoid anything east of El Camino Real, unless west of ECR is Stanford. This rule can help you eliminate most of the questionable areas. College students will be in most of the suburbs. You may want to avoid apartment complexes. There will be homeless people in many parks. More affluent cities will have this under better control.
Very good tip, thank you
Live in Palo Alto - mixed demographics, lots of good eateries and geo location in also very central from employers.
None of the suburban cities will have enough good restaurants. You will have to travel around for food anyway. PA has the best rated high schools, but also a ton of teen suicides. Prices are also very high. One must decide if it is worth it.
“A ton of” is exaggeration. Prices are higher than most areas however value for money is higher than compared to Cupertino, Los Altos, Saratoga. Palo Alto has 2 downtowns and not very far from Castro MTV. You would be surrounded by good food options.
Los Altos has top school district but no real things to do.. avoid Menlo park .. Sunnyvale and Cupertino mix of Asians in high numbers and kind of safe..
What's wrong with Menlo park? It's a good area. East Palo Alto is the area to avoid imo. Also certain parts of central San Jose. Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Altos, Menlo Park and rest of Palo Alto are are all fine and safe. If you dislike noise avoid staying close to train station and downtown areas of these suburbs. And of course avoid being near El Camino real in Sunnyvale area. Cupertino and Los Altos are both convenient and safe.
So Palo Alto and Saratoga are good? Do they have restaurants and markets that deliver from Door dash and instacart ? It’s very important to me
